Detailed Itinerary
๐ First Night: Hanoi โ Sapa (Sleeper Bus)
- 21:00 โ 21:30: Pick-up from Hanoi Old Quarter (Hoan Kiem district) or your hotel in the city center. Guide will check names, assist with luggage, and provide bottled water.
- 22:00: Depart from Hanoi on a premium sleeper bus (34-40 seat limousine). The bus travels via Hanoi โ Lao Cai expressway, journey time approximately 5-6 hours.
- On the bus: You can rest and sleep overnight with provided blankets, pillows, and air conditioning. Some buses serve complimentary water and light snacks. ๐
- Note: Bring a light jacket as it can get cold on the bus at night.
โ๏ธ Day 1: Sapa โ Y Linh Ho โ Lao Chai โ Ta Van (Homestay)
- 05:30 โ 06:00: Arrive in Sapa. Drop-off at town center. Time for personal hygiene and breakfast at your own expense (pho, banh cuon, coffee…). ๐
- 08:30 โ 09:00: Meet your guide at Sapa Stone Church. Guide will introduce the itinerary, ethnic cultures, and prepare for trekking. โช
- 09:30: Start trekking from Sapa to Y Linh Ho Village (Black H’mong). About 2km through lush green rice terraces. ๐พ
- 10:30: Stop at Y Linh Ho for photos and learning about H’mong life. You’ll see traditional wooden houses, locals weaving fabric, and farming activities. ๐ธ
- 12:00: Arrive at Lao Chai Village โ one of the oldest and most beautiful villages in Muong Hoa Valley. Lunch at a local restaurant with specialties: local pork, forest vegetables, lam rice… ๐
- 13:30: Continue trekking to Ta Van Village (Giay and H’mong ethnic groups). Distance about 3-4km through red dirt roads, bamboo forests, and rice terraces. ๐ฟ
- 16:30 โ 17:00: Arrive at homestay in Ta Van or Hau Thao. Check in, rest, and freshen up. Homestay is a traditional wooden house with mountain and rice terrace views. ๐ก
- 18:30: Dinner with the host family featuring authentic local cuisine. You’ll learn to cook simple dishes and taste “Happy Water” corn wine โ a H’mong specialty. ๐ถ
- Evening: Free time to explore the village, interact with locals, or join English classes with village children (if available). Overnight at homestay. ๐
๐ Day 2: Ta Van โ Giang Ta Chai โ Su Pan โ Sapa โ Hanoi
- 07:00 โ 07:30: Breakfast at homestay with simple dishes: pho, bread, eggs, coffee, or tea. ๐ณ
- 08:00: Start trekking from Ta Van to Giang Ta Chai Village (Red Dao ethnic group). About 3km through bamboo forest, small waterfalls, and rice terraces. ๐
- 09:30: Arrive at Giang Ta Chai Waterfall โ a small but beautiful waterfall hidden in bamboo forest. You can swim if weather permits (bring swimwear). ๐ฆ
- 10:30: Continue trekking to Su Pan Village โ a Red Dao village with stilt houses and colorful traditional costumes. ๐
- 12:00: Lunch at a local restaurant in Giang Ta Chai or Su Pan. ๐
- 13:30: Pick-up by vehicle and transfer back to Sapa town center. Journey time about 30-45 minutes. ๐
- 14:30 โ 15:30: Arrive in Sapa. Free time for shopping at Sapa Market (love market, souvenirs, brocade…) or coffee at mountain view cafes. โ
- 16:00 โ 16:30: Guide says goodbye and tour ends in Sapa.
